She's back!!!! At least for this week. I apologize, it has been a little over a month since I have posted anything and I have been missing you all dearly.
Truth be told, I have been struggling to write lately. I’m going to be super honest with you, I haven’t wanted to sit down and put my thoughts to paper like I have in the past. The whole process has felt a little like pulling teeth if you know what I mean and the more time that has passed, the harder it has been.
In my own self sabotaging fashion, I have put so much pressure on myself to write about really profound topics that I have ultimately come to a grinding halt. While I want to provide you with the best possible content, I also know that I am not going to have a profound revelation every week and there are going to times that I just don’t want to dig so deep.
What you have to understand about my content and really the content of anyone speaking from their own experience is that it's like going to therapy each time we write a post. Which is great! But if you have ever gone to therapy, you know it can be very emotionally exhausting. It's a lot of luggage to unpack and process and to articulate in a way that is digestible.
So first of all thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read any of my posts and secondly, bare with me as I navigate through this journey. I am not perfect and I’m not going to even mildly pretend to be. I have no special insight into life and I am fumbling through life like everyone else (hot tip: don’t trust anyone who claims they have their shit figured out).
Anyways, this week I wanted to share with you seven products that keep me sane. I am a busy, anxious person and I have a great appreciation for things that just make life a little easier. But before I dive in I would like to preface that I am in no way an influencer and the goal of this post is not to influence you to buy products, I just want to share some of my recent favorites because I can. None of these products are sponsored and I make no money off of them.
The Chom Chom. First of all the name of this product is super fun to say. But it works miracles. As many of you may know, I have a humongous cat who I basically consider a human. He has a gorgeous, stunning TRIPLE coat, but my god does he shed like crazy. My entire house is covered in hair. My clothing is embedded with his hair. It’s in my eyes, my mouth, seriously no matter how much I vacuum, dust, etc, it's there. The Chom Chom uses static to pick up the hair off of surfaces like your couch or bed and it works better than any lint roller or vacuum I have ever used. It is a little difficult to use on clothing because you have to hold it tight but if you have someone to help it will work on that too! I was disturbed by how much hair and lint I got off of my bed, and I vacuum my bed regularly.
TaoTronics Humidifier. I was influenced by The Skinny Confidential to get a humidifier but I am loving this one in particular. It holds a TON of water and isn't wildly offensive to look at. I had been suffering from nose bleeds almost daily and super dry skin and this has helped tremendously. I usually only turn it on when I am going to sleep at night but it does a great job of keeping my room feeling a little more bearable.
ChromeCast. Thank you Google for inventing this bad boy. It’s super easy, it just plugs into the wall and the HDMI on your TV and you can cast from your phone to your TV instantly. I use this primarily for streaming services because I like having the Netflix, HBO and Hulu apps all in one place. I think the AppleTV and a lot of smart TVs have this ability but the ChromeCast is super portable so back when we could travel I could take it with me. Wifi is required.
Rain Design mStand. Anyone working from a laptop needs one of these. I am sure there are a bunch of models out there, this is just the one I happen to have and it makes life so much easier. If you are using a laptop regularly without a stand you are killing your neck. Do yourself a favor and get a stand with a mouse and a keyboard because your body will thank you. I like how sleek this one is and it is super durable. It keeps your computer from overheating and brings it up to the proper eye height so you aren't having to constantly look down at your screen. We do enough of that with our phones.
The Yeti Rambler 20 oz Tumbler. If you want to keep your drink hot or cold forever, you need a Yeti. I carry water with me EVERYWHERE, it’s kind of weird actually but this cup is my favorite. I have several of the metal Starbucks cups and while I like their shape and how much they hold, they don't come close in terms of keeping your drink cold. This particular style is my favorite because of its size and shape but I have several of the styles and they are all amazing. Yes, they are a little pricey but I promise it's worth it!
Acrylic Organizer. I have a small army of face products and lotions and they were driving me nuts because they were cluttering up my nightstand and I was running out of room. Now that I think about it I should probably keep that stuff in my bathroom, but I don’t. This thing is a little bigger than I was hoping but it works great. The shelves are all adjustable and it spins so you can access all of your products really easily.
Lastly, Kaco Gel Pen. I am weirdly particular when it comes to my pens. There are only 2 kinds I like and one of them is discontinued. What I like about this pen is the precision of the tip. A lot of times, gel pens have a much thicker tip and I personally don’t like how chunky they write. If I have to do a lot of writing or very fast writing I tend to lean more towards a roller ball pen because I think it flows a little better but for your everyday notes or making a to-do list, I love this one. Plus the ink is super dark!
I know this post is a bit of a departure from what I usually talk about but variety is the spice of life, right? I genuinely love all of these products and I use them everyday. I’m not one for a lot of fuss. I don’t like a lot of clutter and I am pretty practical but each of these products makes my life just a tad bit easier.
If you have any questions don’t hesitate to holler! If you want me to post other things like this in the future or you have other favorite products, let me know in the comments!
